Bluetooth wireless technology is a major technology to reach theses objectives. The user can choose a phone number directly in a list transmitted from the cell phone to the car computer, and dial. The communication is re-transmitted through the car’s loud speakers while car radio music is interrupted.
Data synchronisation allows contact and address updating in the phone and in the car computer. This function can be used both to update phone lists and to give the useful addresses to the GPS navigation system.
Bluetooth wireless technology also provides capabilities for entertainment: audio streaming from MP3 Player to the car hifi device to enjoy good sound quality. For people on the rear seats of the car, it is also possible to listen to a different programme than the driver’s one thanks to stereo headsets connected to the car radio through Bluetooth wireless technology.
